Forty hadiths on the virtue of charity On the authority of Al-Harith Al-Ash'ari The Prophet of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said God Almighty commanded Yahya bin Zakariya, peace be upon them In five words To work with them And to command the children of Israel to do them He almost slowed down And Jesus said to him You have been commanded to do five words And command the children of Israel to do them Either you inform them Or I inform them And he said My brother I'm afraid if you beat me To torture or humiliate me He said So Yahya gathered the children of Israel in Jerusalem Until the mosque was full So he sat on the honor He thanked and praised God Then he said God Almighty commanded me with five words To work with them And I command you to do them The first of them That you worship God and do not associate anything with Him It is like that Like a man who bought a slave from his pure wealth with paper or gold So he started working He gives his crops to someone other than his master Which of you would like it for his servant to be like that? God Almighty created you and provided for you So worship Him and do not associate anything with Him And I command you to pray God Almighty keeps His face focused on His servant’s face as long as he does not turn around If you pray, do not turn around And I command you to fast It is like that Like a man with a bundle of musk In a group of them all he finds the scent of musk The breath of a fasting person’s mouth is sweeter to God than the scent of musk And I command you to give charity It is like that Like a man captured by the enemy They pulled his hands to his neck They brought him to behead him And he said May I redeem myself from you? So he ransomed himself from them with little and much Until he untied himself I command you to remember God Almighty often Even if it is like that Like a man who was sought by the enemy, who quickly followed him He came to a fortified fortress and barricaded himself in it The servant is more immune than Satan If it is in the remembrance of God Almighty He said The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said And I command you to do five God commanded me to do them In the group And hearing and obedience And immigration And jihad for the sake of God For he is the one who leaves the group by a hand span He has taken off the neck of Islam from his neck Unless he comes back And whoever calls on the pretext of ignorance He is from the crouch of Hell They said, O Messenger of God Even if he fasts and prays He said Even if he fasts, even if he prays and claims to be a Muslim So call Muslims by their names, as God Almighty has called them Faithful Muslims Servants of God Almighty Narrated by Ahmed and Al-Tirmidhi It was authenticated by Al-Albani
