The story of women's suffering in the time of Moses, peace be upon him The suffering of women working outside the home When Musa saw the sight of the two girls, he avoided drinking water with the people He turned to them, wondering and astonished at what they had done He said what's wrong with you? Ibn Jarir al-Tabari, may God have mercy on him, said Moses said to the two women What is the matter with you and what is your matter, defending what you have done to the people? Do you not water it with people's livestock? Al-Taher Ibn Ashour, may God have mercy on him, said When Moses saw the two women preventing their cattle from drinking He asked them what's wrong with you It is a question about their story and their affairs When the water came He did not dare to water their sheep The answer was great Which is a lesson for every girl today who wants to work outside the home She said: We will not water until the pastures are released Our father is a great sheikh Ibn Kathir, may God have mercy on him, said That is, we do not get watering until after they have finished Al-Alusi, may God Almighty have mercy on him, said As if they said Two weak women are hidden We cannot argue with men or jockey with them We don't have a man to do that Our father is an old sheikh Old age has weakened him We must delay watering until people die or run out of water So I explained the reason for staying away from watering Not wanting to crowd in and mingle with men Then she followed that up by explaining the excuse that led them to work outside the home She said, “Our father is an old man.” Ibn Kathir, may God have mercy on him, said That is, this is the situation that gives us refuge in what you see Al-Taher Ibn Ashour, may God have mercy on him, said They said, “Our father is a great sheikh.” As an apology for coming to watering with the men Because they did not find a man to water for them Because the only man they have is their father He is a great sheikh It cannot reach water because it is too weak to compete with Al-Shaarawi, may God have mercy on him, said So we have three provisions in this story We do not water until the pasture comes out She gave a ruling Our father is a great sheikh She gave a ruling So he gave them water She gave a third ruling These three rulings It regulates the issue of women's work for the Muslim community What should we do when women are forced to work? It is the first ruling We know that watering livestock is the work of men From the second ruling We know that women do not go out to work unless necessary It does not do the job of men Unless the man is unable to perform this task Our father is a great sheikh As for the third ruling He knows the Muslim community or even the humanitarian community If he sees the woman has gone out to work She must not have a man to do this job He must help her and facilitate her mission I remember when I traveled to Saudi Arabia In the year one thousand nine hundred and fifty I rode with a colleague in his car On the way, I saw him get out of his car And he went to one of the houses In front of him was a wooden table Covered with a piece of cloth So he took her and put her in the car Then we walked So I asked him what he was doing And he said It is our custom if you see such a table at the door of the house It means that the owner of the house is not present And the housewife had prepared the dough And you want someone to bake it If one of us passed by, he took it and baked it Then he put the table back in place And in the Almighty’s saying We do not water until the pastures are released An indication that if a woman has to go out to work She had this necessity She has to take the necessity as much as she can Do not mix with men And to isolate herself from crowding and contact with them This does not mean that necessity forced women to do men's work She became like them She allows herself to mingle with them The suffering that women faced in the city When she goes out to work outside the home It consists of two things The first The suffering of mingling with men The second Suffering from the nature of the work you went out to do As for the first suffering It is mingling with men The texts of the Qur’an and Sunnah have indicated On the prohibition of women mixing with men in business It is this evidence The story of these two girls They are in need of watering However, they did not approach the men Go away clearly Until this caught the attention of God’s Prophet Moses, peace and blessings be upon him Among them is the Almighty’s saying And live in your homes And do not display yourselves like the display of pre-Islamic times So God Almighty commanded the decision-making in homes Because of the protection of women Keeping it away from corrupt means And because the woman who does not stay in her home Prone to mixing with men Because of her frequent going out So God chose for her to stay at home To reduce her contact with men Therefore, the order was followed by decision-making in homes By forbidding vanity Because leaving the house a lot Women's expectations of finery Among them is the Almighty’s saying O Prophet Tell your husbands and daughters And the women of believers He draws down their cloaks upon them That's the least they should know So they won't hurt God is Forgiving and Merciful So God Almighty commanded the women of the believers By lowering the jilbab over them If we want to go out The purpose of this is clear He hid them from men If we have blocked From the eyes of men in clothing How can they mix with men? In general community activities Which is not without its revelations Men look at women And falling into temptation with them Among them is His saying, Glory be to Him Tell the believers to lower their gazes And protect their private parts It's smarter for them God is aware of what they do And tell the believing women to be angry From their sight And they protect their private parts They do not show off their adornment Except what appears So God commanded the believing women What he commanded the believers to do From lowering one's gaze and guarding one's chastity And he started it regardless Because it is the leading means To preserve relief He who lowers his gaze He was better off guarding his chastity And whoever releases his sight Whoever agrees to commit immorality No rational person doubts that the fields are mixed No one is safe in it From looking at the other party It is the most important field In which adultery occurs This verse indicates its meaning On the prohibition of mixing Among them is the Almighty’s saying And if you ask them for anything So ask them from behind a veil That is purer for your hearts and their hearts Ibn Kathir, may God have mercy on him, said That is, this is what I commanded you to do I legitimized it for you from the veil Purer and better He understands from that Mixing is not purer for the hearts of men and women Rather, it corrupted all of their hearts Mixed work There is great suffering for women in many aspects From her Suffering in lowering her gaze She struggles to control her emotions She struggles to maintain the purity of her heart And the suffering of not spoiling a man’s heart And suffering in her commitment to the legal dress that pleases her Lord She suffers from controlling her speech and the way she speaks Were women able to work in men's fields? Get over this suffering We will continue in the next meeting, God willing Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds The story of women's suffering in the time of Moses, peace be upon him
